Do you also provide an API?

ch-aviation can provide the data feeds to you directly via file transfer protocol (FTP), safe file transfer protocol (SFTP) or a shared Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 bucket.

Which delivery formats you support?

The data is provided as Comma-separated values (.csv) flat files. Optionally we can provide them as Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) or XML (.xml)

How often does data get updated?

The ch-aviation database is updated in batches to ensure all data flows through ch-aviation’s semi-automated quality assurance process built to maximise data integrity. As a result, the data set remains relatively static in the ch-aviation production database, for most data sets for a week or month at a time. Therefore, the most efficient integration option is the transfer of flat files provided for integration into your own applications in various formats.

ch-aviation can provide the data feeds to you directly via a) file transfer protocol (FTP), b) safe file transfer protocol (SFTP) or c) a shared Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 bucket.

FTP/SFTP

We can either provide a ch-aviation FTP server folder, hosted by Swiss hosting provider Hostpoint (www.hostpoint.ch), or write to your FTP or SFTP server folder as preferred.

If you choose to transfer data via ch-aviation FTP, ahead of file delivery your ch-aviation Customer Success Manager will provide you with your Username, FTP Server URL and Password.

Otherwise, you will need to provide access credentials to ch-aviation yourself.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3

For Amazon Web Services S3 set-up, ch-aviation will need to know whether you require programmatic and/or manual access and what your organisation’s ARN (Amazon Resource Name) is, if it already exists. Otherwise ch-aviation will create a new ARN for you. Ahead of file delivery, ch-aviation will provide you with the Access Key ID, Secret Key, Bucket Name and Bucket ARN.
