This Saturday, word got out that Jim Williams, the Publisher of Airfax, is retiring, which means the end of one of the airline industry’s most well-known publications.

What began as a Fax Newsletter (hence the name Airfax) quickly evolved into one of the most important Advertising spots for Commercial Aircraft.

Suppose you have been an existing Airfax subscriber and are now looking for an alternative source that tells you about aircraft available for Sale, ACMI Lease or Operating Lease. In that case, you might be surprised to learn that Aircraft Availability has been an incremental part of ch-aviation’s fleet data for many years, and it provides a very viable alternative to Airfax.

As a subscriber to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module, you can search an extensive aircraft database of over 67.000 aircraft based on a variety of parameters such as aircraft type, aircraft status, projected lease-end date, etc. You can also search all aircraft currently offered on aircraft marketplaces such as MyAirTrade for Sale or available for an ACMI or Operating lease. We also show you who you need to get in touch with to secure the asset.

Here is how you can access this data: Go to the ch-aviation “Aircraft” page (Step 1) and then click on the “+ Symbol” at “Availability” (Step 2).

After that, select the Search Parameter under “Availability” (Step 1) that you would like to set. You can choose between

  • Sale
  • ACMI Lease
  • Operating Lease

Then click on “Search” (Step 2) to run your query. That will return you the search result (Step 3) below.

This gives you access to over 400 assets currently listed for sale, ACMI, or operating lease on myAirTrade/ch-aviation. That’s also significantly more than the 125 assets in the final edition of Airfax.

All of the above steps are also shown in this video here:

If you are not a ch-aviation PRO subscriber yet and would like to sign up for this data, go to https://bit.ly/aircraft_availability_subscribe_here and signup to ch-aviation PRO, and the ch-aviation fleets advanced module.
